  FREE! Join educators, librarians, authors and illustrators from Connecticut and beyond for an amazing day of literacy learning.  

  (You don’t have to be a CASL member to join the fun!) 

  Bring your ideas, thoughts & questions and during registration/breakfast, we’ll develop our sessions for the day. Examples include: AASL Standards, Science of Reading, best practices for using nonfiction, collaboration and more. NerdcampCT will follow the Edcamp model to create our schedule. These are not presentations, but discussions so that we can learn from one another.

  Over 30 authors & illustrators will participate throughout the day. Plus, they will sign books! Books will be available for purchase from a local independent bookseller. Bring books for our book swap. Get ready for your TBR (to be read) list to grow!

  CASL is thrilled to be sponsoring a School Library Month bookmark contest for PK, Early-Elementary, Elementary, Intermediate, Middle, and High School Students from April 1-24 for the 3rd year! We had some amazing bookmarks last year and are excited to see what your students create for 2026!

  School librarians of the winning design will receive posters of the winning bookmarks and actual bookmarks to share with your students!

  We have created an event template for you to run a school event from April 1-24. From April 24-May 3 you can upload your SCHOOL WINNER(s) to our shared folder. The CASL Board will select a winner from each category and announce on May 12, 2026.
