Rheta A. Clark Award

To honor a member for extensive service (at least 10 years) and outstanding contributions in the library media field to students, faculty, lay citizens, and/or instructional program of the school or school system or educational agency or institution wherein the nominee/applicant is employed. The nominee/applicant has demonstrated through action, philosophy, and speech a dedication to the goals and principles of the media profession. Eligibility for award is not contingent on retirement.

    • Membership lists and other existing data indicate the above.
    • "Outstanding" shall be construed as superior or of state, regional, or national importance.
    • "Contributions" shall be deemed as innovative or beyond normal requirements.
    • "Extensive" shall be construed as wide, far ranging, over a period of at least 10 years, encompassing many activities and/or projects.
    • "Service" shall be interpreted as assistance, help, usefulness, and value.
    • "Dedication" shall be interpreted as adherence, devotion, and loyalty.

The nominee/applicant shall submit a current resume and two letters of reference, one from a teaching colleague and one from an administrator. The award recipient will receive a plaque and have their name inscribed on the CASL plaque of award winners.
