Banned Books Week (September 18-24, 2022) is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. This week spotlights current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. It brings together the entire book community — librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types — in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.
Join CASL Members and special guest Amanda Jones (2021 School Librarian of the Year) to discuss books, policies, procedures, and resources for your library!
To prepare for this discussion, view the presentation we recorded last year on the topic and come with questions, anecdotes, and suggestions for how we as a community can advocate for every reader's FREADOM to read.
